Jacob J. Karl Memorial Staff Scholarship
The Jacob
J. Karl Memorial Staff Scholarship is awarded annually to a staff member in
memory of the county legislator who served on The ReHab Center's Board of
Governors and was instrumental in promoting the agency's growth during the
1970s. In order to qualify, staff members must have a minimum of two years of
full-time employment status and have a specific purpose for the scholarship,
which will enrich the employee personally and help in the performance of his or
her job. Therefore, eligible staff may apply if they are planning to educate or
advance themselves by taking a course, participating in a seminar, attending a
conference, etc. If taking a college course, the staff member need not be
pursuing a degree; just a course to enrich one's self would suffice. The scholarship
committee chooses this recipient, and the award amount - which could range up
to $500 - is based on the information submitted.
