Foundation welcomes new director of development

The ReHabilitation Center is happy to welcome Melissa Riehle to its staff.

As Director of Development for The Rehabilitation Foundation, Melissa will be a highly visible member of our team. Her primary responsibilities will be to lead the Foundation’s fundraising efforts, including the popular Seafood Fest event that returns for its [12th] year on March 20th.

“I’ve always heard this is a great agency to work for,” she said. “And I like the fact of knowing I will be in a position to see the benefits of what I’m doing. Going to work and making a difference makes it seem like it’s not even work.”

Melissa is already a familiar face to many in the region, having lead The Red Cross’ donor and recruitment efforts in the region for more than seven years. An Olean native, she has a bachelor’s degree in molecular genetics from SUNY Fredonia and her master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Health Services Administration.

She says her first priority is to help people in the Southern Tier develop a deeper appreciation for The ReHab Center and the extent to which it is enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and behavioral health concerns through its supports and services.

“These first few weeks I’ve been amazed at the services we provide,” Melissa said. “I think people in the community will be much more likely to support the Foundation and the mission of The ReHab Center if they really know who we are.”
